2 Sturebadet Resort – Stockholm:
The Sturebadet Spa has been a Stockholm institution since 1885, when Karl Korman opened an institution to promote “proper swimming” and exercise. This place is a spa / public bath / gym / exercise studio located in the upscale neighborhood of Stureplan, a public square in central Stockholm. It is said that Sturebadet was a favorite of artist Greta Garbo and boasts an impressive Ottoman-style pool.
A spa day at Sturebadet includes bathing in the 84 ° F pool, steam, sauna and hydromassage, but you can add lessons in yoga, pilates and kijung, or work out in the gym and fitness room. You can also sip a glass of champagne with lunch in the Curman Lounge, or read and relax in a quiet room.
Along with great Swedish massages, facial and body treatments, you might want to try Samezen, a signature treatment inspired by ancient Sami culture and designed by Swedish-born athlete Kerstin Florian, who has her own line of natural skin and body care products. The Samezen treatment includes a mineral-water bath, body scrub and massage with mineral-rich lava rocks under the “starry sky”, all while listening to Sami folk music.
